Systema
Systema's origins can be traced back more than ten centuries, with roots in ancient Slavic health and martial practices.
Systema was used by elite military and security services during the Soviet era, it is now popular around the world as a holistic and complete approach in preparing the body and psyche for life and combat.

Relax and de-stress! Unique strategies for managing fear, stress and tension make Systema a great tool for building resilience and strengthening metal health.

Founders
The Systema we share was founded by Colonel Mikhail Ryabko and brought to the West by Mikhail's top student Vladimir Vasiliev in 1993.

Mikhail Ryabko (1961-2023) received martial arts training from the age of five and entered the military at just fifteen years of age. He went on to serve in special operations units, becoming a tactical commander of hostage-rescue teams, counter-terrorist operations, and armed criminal neutralisation.

Vladimir Vasiliev is the top student of Mikhail Ryabko. Vladimir’s military work spans across ten years of extensive service with the Special Operations Unit. He also served as trainer for elite units, SWAT teams, and bodyguards. Vladimir moved to Canada in 1993, he has since personally trained and certified well over 300 qualified Systema instructors and schools worldwide, and has provided an Award-Winning instructional film collection.
